Stacey Abrams Raises $22M For Her Georgia Governor Campaign, Far Exceeds Current Gov. Brian Kemp

Stacey Abrams isn’t playing this time around. It’s evident when you take a look at her fundraising efforts that in just two months, she has raised $22 million.

Abrams is far exceeding current Republican Gov. of Georgia Brian Kemp’s fundraising and pushing close to $50 million raised over the seven months since she announced her campaign in December.

Abrams, a Democrat, confirmed Friday that her direct campaign and its associated One Georgia committee raised $22 million in just two months and together had $18.5 million in cash on hand, the Columbus Ledger-Enquire reported.

That’s a significant difference when compared to the $6.8 million Kemp raised for his direct campaign and associated Georgians First committee.

Kemp said he had $6.4 million in cash as of June 30.

Both candidates are spending heavily. Abrams had already spent over $30 million when the general election campaign began. Kemp has already spent more than $17 million.

The 2022 races are closely divided among Georgia. They are likely to go above past old records, with much of the political spending expected from candidates, political parties, and outside groups in the gubernatorial contest and the U.S. Senate race between Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker.
