Stephen A. Smith had the internet buzzing after his passionate comments on ESPN about the FBI’s takedown of several NBA players. The outspoken host connected the situation to something larger, claiming it may be part of a broader political push tied to Donald Trump’s influence.
During his segment, Stephen A. repeatedly warned viewers that “Trump is coming.” He explained that Trump’s long history in the sports world, from his casino ventures to his relationships with athletes and entertainers, could play a role in what’s happening now.
Smith said what stood out to him was seeing the FBI director personally hold a press conference. He called it unusual and said it sends a message. In his view, it was not just about the legal case itself but also about making a statement to the sports community. “It’s serious,” he told his co-hosts. “This could just be the beginning.”
He also cautioned that the WNBA might be next, especially since many of its players and teams have publicly protested and spoken out against Trump in the past. Smith made it clear he wasn’t questioning the validity of the FBI’s investigation, but he believes there’s more to the story than what’s being shown on the surface.
According to him, several people in both the NBA and NFL are privately saying this could be the start of a wider wave of action targeting sports figures. “This is the tip of the iceberg,” he said. “People better brace themselves because he’s coming.”
