The ex-husband of Spice Girls star Mel B has filed an emergency hearing request in their never-ending battle regarding their 11-year-old daughter Madison.
According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Mel’s ex-husband, Stephen Belafonte, asked for the hearing due to Mel’s alleged drinking and troubling behavior.
As part of his legal request, Stephen wants an order stating Madison will have her own phone to speak to him privately, without Mel’s other daughter Phoenix having access to her phone.
In addition, he requests a court order preventing Mel from using any substance “which substantially impairs her ability to care for Madison” while she has custody of their child.
“In many of Madison’s communications with [Mel], [Mel] is demonstrably intoxicated, slurring her speech and speaking in the distinct manner in which [Mel] speaks when intoxicated,” the filing read. “This has gotten to the point where Madison has felt the need to call [Mel] out.”
Additionally, Stephen wants Mel not to be nude around their daughter, “including but not limited to entering Madison’s bathtub, walking around her without underwear, or attempting to sleep in the same bed naked with Madison.”
In November 2022, Stephen said that he was informed of an incident when “[Mel] inappropriately entered Madison’s bathtub naked and, on several occasions, ‘cuddled’ naked with Madison, ‘spooning’ her, in the same bed [Mel] shares with her partner. Putting aside the unexplained nature of [Mel’s] conduct and the need for further inquiry into Madison’s concerns.”
Further, he said, “when Madison complained before about [Mel’s] habit of working around the home with no underwear, and with her privates exposed, [Mel] reacted by laughing and continued to do so.”
The filing alleged Madison is at a “breaking point” with her mother and her “bizarre behavior.”
Stephen claims their daughter “is in a state of panic and utter refusal to see her mother.”
Madison is expected to visit Mel in the UK later this month, and he wants specific rules to be enforced, including a personal cell phone.
Earlier this year, RadarOnline.com reported that Mel B. accused Stephen of keeping her in the dark about their daughter’s whereabouts by hiring a caretaker she disapproved of.
