US Capitol Police Investigate Swastika Flag Found in Congressman Dave Taylor’s Office

A disturbing discovery has shaken Capitol Hill after a swastika-themed U.S. flag was found inside the office of Ohio Republican Representative Dave Taylor.

According to Politico, the image showed red and white stripes arranged in the shape of a swastika, displayed on a cubicle wall behind staffer Angelo Elia during a virtual meeting. Nearby, a pocket constitution and congressional calendar were pinned to the same space.

“I am aware of an image that appears to depict a vile and deeply inappropriate symbol near an employee in my office,” Taylor said in a statement. “The content of that image does not reflect the values or standards of this office, my staff, or myself, and I condemn it in the strongest terms.”

Taylor confirmed he immediately launched an internal review and contacted Capitol Police, who are now investigating. His spokesperson suggested the incident may have been “foul play or vandalism.”

The report comes shortly after Politico exposed a group chat where Young Republican leaders made racist jokes and praised Adolf Hitler, drawing widespread backlash. The appearance of a Nazi-related image inside a congressional office has only intensified scrutiny around extremist symbols appearing in political spaces.
