‘Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s’ Star Convicted Of Arranging Nephew’s Murder

Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s star James “Tim” Norman has been convicted in the 2016 murder-for-hire plot that left his 21-year-old nephew and co-star, Andre Montgomery, dead.

On Friday, two years after Norman’s arrest, a federal jury found the reality star guilty of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire, and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in the shooting death of his nephew.

Prosecutors said Norman took out a $450,000 life insurance policy on Montgomery and hired two people to kill him 18 months later on March 14, 2016. He then tried to cash out the policy to make a profit. The jury deliberated for 17 hours before handing down the verdict.

Norman and Montgomery starred in the OWN reality show, Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s, about a soul-food business founded in the St. Louis area by Norman’s mother and Andre’s grandmother, Robbie Montgomery.

Norman could be facing up to life in prison, NBC reports. Sentencing is scheduled for December 15.
