Good Morning America hosts, T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, are threatening legal action if ABC chooses to terminate them following their shocking affair.
ABC announced they were launching an investigation towards the end of 2022 after it was revealed that the co-hosts had been seeing each other for months. Both were married at the time, though they’ve filed for divorce from their spouses. The network pulled them from the air to heavily examine which rules were violated. One revelation that has already arisen from the probe is that prior to Robach, Holmes had a three-year affair with married former GMA producer Natasha Singh.
According to multiple sources, Holmes and Robach are frustrated with the amount of time ABC is taking to complete the investigation. An insider close to the network told PEOPLE that while neither has been terminated, it is unlikely they’ll return to the air.
Both Holmes and Robach have hired celebrity attorney Eric George. They feel that ABC News President Kim Godwin allowing them to return as hosts two days after their affair was made public is contradictory to the network’s current actions. George also plans to examine how race plays a factor in the way Holmes is being treated. That portion of the suit will look into whether or not white anchors had ever been disciplined to this level for having a consensual relationship.
ABC has not publicly responded.
