Police have arrested multiple people after the mummified remains of a spiritual leader were located inside a Colorado home. Amy Carlson, known by her supporters as "Mother God," was found dead wrapped in a sleeping bag and decorated with holiday lights inside of a home in Moffat. The 45-year-old was the leader of the "Love Has Won" group. Amy Carlson and followers One of her followers told police that he knew Amy as Lia Carlson. He says that he took in a group of individuals who needed somewhere to stay. The man discovered the body on April 28th after returning home from a trip to Denver and alerted authorities. He believes that the group transported Carlson's body with them from California. The witness has not been charged with a crime. According to arrest affidavits, Carlson's "mummified remains appeared to be set up in some type of shrine." The corpse appeared to have "glitter type makeup" on and around the eyes. An SUV searched on the property was said to have the back seat laid down in a manner "consistent with someone transporting the mummified remains." "Love Has Won" was established in southern Colorado in 2018. It has been slammed by families across the country who believe the cult-like society is brainwashing its followers and stealing from them. The group offers "spiritual intuitive ascension sessions" and sells religious healing goods online. Carlson's followers praised her and believed that she was leading them to a spiritual awakening. They also thought that she conversed with angels. Those arrested are Karin Raymond, Sarah Rudolph, Christopher Royer, Ryan Kramer, John Robertson, Jason Castillo, and Ma Franco Gonzalez. None of them have been charged with her murder, as a cause of death is still pending. Royer and Rudolph have been charged with two counts of “child abuse” and “abuse of a corpse." Raymond has been charged with “false imprisonment,” “child abuse,” and “abuse of a corpse.” Kramer, Robertson, Castillo, and Gonzalez have been charged with two counts of “child abuse” and one count of “tampering with deceased human remains.”
