Tamar Braxton is taking a strong stand after being dragged into what she calls a baseless and harmful rumor involving Mendeecees Harris, husband of “Love & Hip-Hop” star Yandy Smith-Harris.
The drama began after media personality Funky Dineva went live on Monday and accused Braxton of having an inappropriate relationship with Mendeecees, a claim Tamar is not taking lightly. In response, she issued a firm and emotionally charged statement through her attorney James L. Walker, Jr., which she posted on Instagram.

In the statement, Tamar made it clear that the rumor is “completely untrue” and called it a sad reflection of how success is often met with gossip. She said the allegation has hurt not only her but also her loved ones, particularly her family and children who never asked to be caught in the crossfire of internet speculation.
“This summer, I poured my heart into ‘Heartbreak Retrograde,’” Tamar said in the statement. The project, which includes an EP and short film, recently topped the iTunes R&B charts. Tamar emphasized that the rumor undermines her hard work and tarnishes a moment she should be celebrating.
