Tarell Brown CB of 49ers Loses $2M in Offseason

The San Francisco cornerback Tarell Brown, unaware of a contractual agreement of mandatory workouts with his team during offseason, forfeited $2 million of the $2.295M due to him in the final year of his contract… “he aint even know it”. According to Brown, 28, he learned of this incident through the online social media website Twitter. When brought to his attention Brown immediately called his agent, Brian Overstreet– the smart guy who never informed Brown on the contingents of his contract, and fired him as his agent.

“I no longer have an agent as of now,” Brown said after practice, Via Associated Press. “… No one wants to leave money on the table. If I would have known the clauses in my contract and that’s what agents get paid to do — to orchestrate the contract and let you know what you can and can’t do as far as workouts and OTAs and things of that sort. That’s what he got paid to do, he didn’t do that, so in my opinion he had to be let go.”

Brown states he plans on speaking with 49ers Head Coach, Jim Harbaugh, in hopes of obtaining some of that free money left on the table. As of now, Brown will earn the $925,000 this season without the contract’s escalator clause. All I can say is, groupies y’all on a tight budget this year!
