Taxi Driver Who Picked Up Midtown Atlanta Shooter Said “She Was Calm” After Fatal Incident

A taxi cab driver never imagined being part of a breaking news story, but he found himself in the spotlight on Monday afternoon after picking up the midtown Atlanta shooter.
Giles Patrick Manido told Channel 2 he believed it to be a typical passenger pickup from a midtown hotel on 14th Street.
He said, “I was the last person with her, and I spoke with her for a long time.”
It turned out that the passenger was Raissa Kengne, one of Manido’s regulars.
“This lady, she’s always calm,” he said.
According to dash cam video obtained by Channel 2, Kengne is seen getting into Manido’s cab after fatally shooting two and injuring one individual.

“I looked again. I knew that was her,” Manido said.

Audio clips reveal Atlanta police officers asking the driver about his passenger during an exchange with Atlanta Checker Cab’s dispatcher.
Police asked if any drivers picked up a woman wearing a striped shirt, according to the company.

In midtown Atlanta, the 34-year-old Kengne allegedly shot Michael Shinners and Michael Horne, the building engineer and property manager of 1280 West Condos, causing chaos and a shelter in place order.

She allegedly shot Wesley Freeman at an office at 110 Peachtree Street after holding an individual at gunpoint in the management office.

Both Shinners and Freeman passed away from their injuries. As of Wednesday morning, Horne has been in the hospital.

Manido claims that Kengne is from his native Cameroon. They traveled to a house on Robin Hood Road NE in Ansley Park after he picked her up from the hotel. He was told that it was her lawyer’s residence.

Afterward, they went to the airport, where she paid her $48 fare with a $100 bill.
Shortly after, Keenge was arrested at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
