Tekashi 6ix9ine turned himself in on Tuesday to begin serving a three month prison sentence after a federal judge ruled he violated the terms of his probation, according to court records. Shortly before surrendering, Tekashi 6ix9ine shared a video on social media documenting the lead up to his incarceration. In the clip, he appears alongside streamer Adin Ross as he prepares to report to authorities.
The prison sentence stems from violations tied to his supervised release following a prior federal conviction. During a recent hearing, the judge found that Tekashi 6ix9ine failed to comply with multiple probation conditions, including issues related to drug use and other court ordered requirements. The court noted that previous warnings had been issued and that continued noncompliance warranted incarceration.
This marks another chapter in the rapper’s ongoing legal history, which has included several run ins with law enforcement and repeated probation related issues since his release from an earlier federal sentence.
