Texas Court Denies The Appeal Of Ex-Cop Who Killed Botham Jean In His Apartment

A judge ruled that Amber Guyger, the convicted killer and former cop who fatally shot Botham Jean after she mistakenly entered his apartment, thinking it was her own, won’t be coming home anytime soon.

Guyger was sentenced in 2019 for shooting Botham Jean in his apartment the previous year. The former cop argued before and during her trial that she shot Jean in self-defense because she thought he was in her apartment.

The courts didn’t buy her implausible defense then and now, Texas’ Court of Appeals rejected her defense team’s request to have her case reviewed.
