Here’s a little positivity for your Wednesday. Compton rapper, The Game, plans to donate $10,000 to help cover the funeral costs of a slain six year old by the name of Tiana Ricks.
According to news reports, Tiana nad her father, Tyrell Ricks Jr, where standing outside of the gathering, when they were approached by two men who opened fire on the two. After being shot, the father and daughter lay on the ground waiting for an ambulance to arrive, reports say Tiana asked her father, “Are you okay, Daddy?” Tiana later died at the hospital. Her father Ricks, Jr is now back at home after being hospitalized.
Game was touched by the story and offered his help. Via his instagram he said:
“This very sad story hit me in a place nothing ever has. The picture above is of 6 year old “Tiana…”
Game gave the family $10,00 to cover the expenses of the funeral. TMZ spoke to Tiana’s mother, Marquia Macklin about Game’s donation.
“Game told me that he heard about my story and was really sorry. He said that he wanted to help out. It costs so much to bury her… sadly $10,000 only covers half of the casket and the plot.”
Game’s donation is part of his Robin Hood project in which he vows to donate $1 million by Christmas. A vow in which has so far donated $10, 220.
Police are still investigating the murder of 6 year old Tiana Ricks and they are asking if anyone ]has any information about the case to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit or the Moreno Valley Police Department.
