Three Florida Teens Charged for Killing High School Classmate with a Knife and Sword

Three Florida high schoolers have been charged with murdering a classmate with a knife and sword.

Last week, two girls and one boy were taken into custody after allegedly luring their 18-year-old high school classmate Dwight “DJ” Grant from his home and then stabbing him to death, Yahoo! News reports. They’ve all been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy and evidence tampering.

After he went missing on Oct. 17, Grant’s body was found in bushes two days later in Miramar, a town about 20 miles away from Miami. His body was left behind the apartment complex that he lived in.

Police say Grant’s murder comes after the teen allegedly had sex with one of the female suspects. The male suspect reportedly took issue with this because he had an “emotional connection” with the girl. Text messages from the male suspect said “murder was coming soon” to Grant. His girlfriend said she’d help kill the teen.

The three alleged killers were caught on tape luring Grant from his home and down to a stairwell, where they jumped on him. One girl allegedly held Grant down while the male suspect beat and stabbed him with a knife and sword while the other girl watched.

Miramar High’s Principal, Lili Formoso responded to the incident via Twitter.

“May our forever Patriot Rest In Peace,” Formoso wrote. “Please pray for Dwight Grant’s family, friends and our community. I spoke with Ms. Grant to offer our condolences on behalf of the Patriot family. We will have grief counselors available on Thursday & Friday. We are here for you.”

17-year-old Andre Clements, 17-year-old Christie Parisien and 16-year-old Jaslyn Smith were arrested for the murder.
