“Tina: The Tina Turner Musical,” based on the turbulent life of rock star, Tina Turner, is coming to Broadway next Fall, producers said Wednesday.⠀⠀⠀

Show dates and theaters have not yet been established, however, the musical has been running in London since March. A second production is set to open in Hamburg, Germany next March. With the addition of Broadway, the show will run in three countries simultaneously. ⠀⠀⠀

The London cast is lead by Tony nominee, Adrienne Warren. She will likely play Turner in the Broadway production, though casting has not been confirmed.

Jukebox musicals have become a trend on Broadway with, “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” “Head Over Heels,” about The Go-Go’s, and “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” all currently running. “The Cher Show” and “Ain’t Too Proud,” The Temptations story are set to open later this season.

“Tina” is written by the playwright Katori Hall, Frank Ketelaar, and Kees Prins. Phyllida Lloyd, of “Mamma Mia!” is directing, and “Tina” is produced by Stage Entertainment, a European company.

Referred to as the Queen of Rock & Roll, Turner has sold more concert tickets than any solo artist in history.

Turner, now 78 and living in Switzerland, is said to be associated with the production.
