“Toddlers and Tiaras” star Kailia Posey passed away after taking her own life.
According to TMZ, who spoke with her family, the 16-year-old pageant queen died by suicide on Monday in Washington state.
At the time, her mother took to social media and posted, “I don’t have any words or thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kaila. My baby forever.”
Her family describes Posey as being an “accomplished teenager” who had a “bright future ahead of her.” The family went on say that the teen “unfortunately, in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life.”
Posey, whose time on the popular reality series led to her becoming the viral “grinning girl meme, seemed to have a rising career with her talent as a contortionist. TMZ reports she was already being offered professional touring opportunities. She was also recently selected to be on her high school’s cheerleading squad next fall.
In addition, she was working on plans to pursue a commercial pilot’s license while maintaining her entertainment endeavors.
Posey’s family has set up a fund at the Whatcom Community Foundation.
