Toronto influencer and artist Top5 is recovering after being stabbed in London while interacting with fans near the Wireless Festival grounds. The attack reportedly happened shortly after Drake’s set during his three-night takeover of the festival.
According to Toronto news source Keep6ixSolid, the rapper was approached by a masked individual while talking with fans near the stage. Top5 was stabbed during the encounter. Thankfully, sources confirmed he survived and that “no arteries were hit in the attempt on his life.”
Just hours before the incident, Top5 reportedly said during a live stream, “There are no real killers in London,” as reported by The Express Tribune. That statement has drawn attention in the aftermath of the attack.
A video circulating on social media, covered by The Sun, appears to show the rapper inside a car being ambushed by a group of men who stomped on the windshield and assaulted him through the driver’s side. London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were called to Springpark Drive just after midnight on Monday.
“The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by a group who damaged his car before stabbing him in the leg,” said a police spokesperson. “He was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing.”
Top5 was previously released from prison last year after a judge dismissed social media evidence in a murder trial. “An innocent man just came home,” he said after his release. He still faces unrelated firearms charges.
