Donald Trump is once again making headlines after proposing Trumplicans as a new name for the Republican Party while also sharing another message tied to a 2028 presidential run.
His latest post appeared on Saturday, when he uploaded an AI generated photo of himself on Truth Social. In the image, he held a sign that read “TRUMP 2028, YES!” which immediately caught public attention.
Before that post, Trump had already introduced different options for naming his supporters.
On Wednesday, he wrote, “There is a new word for a TRUMP REPUBLICAN, which is almost everyone (GREAT POLICY IS THE KEY!). It is, TEPUBLICAN??? Or, TPUBLICAN???”
He offered both terms as possibilities while testing which might resonate most.
When he posted the AI picture on Saturday, he added the caption “TRUMPLICANS!” which appeared to be the name he preferred. This suggested that he wants the Republican Party and his followers to carry a label centered around his identity.
Even with the focus on renaming the party, many people noticed the 2028 reference.
The Constitution limits presidents to two terms through the 22nd Amendment, yet Trump continues to hint at running again. He has previously suggested there were “methods” he could pursue and has sold “Trump 2028” merchandise.
By combining a new name for the Republican Party with imagery that implies a third term, Trump once again placed himself at the center of political discussion.
