If Reelected, Trump Reportedly Wants to Bring Back Firing Squads and Televise Executions

According to Rolling Stone, former President Donald Trump has asked close associates for their thoughts on firing squads and is committed to expanding the use of the federal death penalty and bringing back banned execution methods if re-elected in 2024.

Trump has reportedly discussed bringing back death by firing squad, hanging, and possibly even by guillotine, and has floated these ideas while discussing planned campaign rhetoric and policy desires, as well as his disdain for President Biden’s approach to crime.

He has also, according to a source, mused about televising footage of executions.

During his presidency, Trump oversaw the executions of 13 federal prisoners, and rules made during his administration made federal firing squads more feasible.
