Tennessee State Students Help Boot MAGA Activists Who Popped Up On Campus [Video]

MAGA protesters at TSU

On Tuesday, September 23rd, 2025, conservative activists Cam Higby and David Khait brought their “Fearless Debates” tour to Tennessee State University in Nashville. The duo set up an unapproved table on campus in an effort to spark conversation about diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. However, what began as a makeshift setup quickly escalated into a tense situation.

A large group of students surrounded the table almost immediately. The crowd began chanting, and some individuals were seen throwing small objects. Campus police intervened shortly after to escort Higby and Khait off campus for their safety.

In the aftermath, TSU released a statement clarifying that the activists had not received permission to hold an event on university grounds. The school emphasized its long-standing policy requiring prior approval for all campus demonstrations or public gatherings. Officials also made it clear that the protestors causing the disruption were not affiliated with the university.

Despite the chaos, TSU stood behind its student body, praising them for maintaining professionalism and composure during the incident. The university also reiterated its commitment to upholding student safety and campus order.

The incident has reignited debate over free speech rights on college campuses and how schools enforce rules while navigating political tensions. As outside groups continue to target universities as battlegrounds for controversial topics, situations like the one at TSU could become more frequent, forcing institutions to balance open dialogue with the need for structure and security.
