Migos fans are currently in shambles as news of a possible split has sent social media reeling.
On Wednesday, social media users noticed that Offset had unfollowed fellow group members on Instagram. The observation coincidentally occurred on the same day that Quavo and Takeoff unveiled the cover art for their forthcoming single, “Hotel Lobby.”
On the official Migos Instagram page, the caption on the song’s artwork read, “Hotel Lobby x Unc & Phew!!” This led many to believe that the record would be released under a new name of a potential group that only included the real-life uncle and nephew duo.
This is not the first time that one Migos member has been excluded from releases. Takeoff was notoriously absent from their hit “Bad & Boujee,” while Offset was not on many of the group’s early independent hits due to his incarceration. However, this instance feels different considering the fact that the group has not been photographed much together since appearing at the “DONDA 2” listening party in February.
Quavo has also been embarking on his own ventures, landing a lead role in the forthcoming film “Takeover.” Takeoff has also recorded stand-alone music with Lil Wayne and Rich The Kid. Offset has rebranded as a devoted family man, gracing the cover of Essence with his and Cardi B’s beautiful children. He has also become more involved in the fashion industry.
Despite their individual endeavors, such as solo albums, day one Migos supporters have watched for years as the group always reunited and supported one another. For this reason, Offset unfollowing his group mates appears to spell out trouble in bando music paradise. Hopefully, the guys are just having a friendly disagreement.
