Two Men Face Terrorism Charges After Being Armed During Protests

Following the death of George Floyd, two members of an anti-government extremist group have been charged with federal terrorism counts. The two members flaunted their guns and led protestors while preaching about killing the police, politicians, and blowing up the courthouse.

Twenty-two-year-old, Benjamin Ryan Teeter of Raleigh, North Carolina is one of the men charged. According to WRAL, when he was caught in May, the Boogaloo Bois member  “was seen carrying weapons, political flags and protesting the coronavirus restrictions put in place by Governor Roy Cooper.”

Michael Robert Solomon, 30, of New Brighton, Minnesota, is the other man charged.

According to WRAL, their charges are as followed: “Conspiring to provide and attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, for allegedly building firearms suppressors that they believed they sold to Hamas, and for allegedly offering to fight as “mercenaries” for the group.”

A key witness to the case, an assumed member of Boogaloo Bois, told the FBI, “Solomon and Teeter talked about attacking a National Guard Armory to steal weapons and bombs.” Their apparent mission was to get the police out of the city.

Both Solomon and Teeter made their first court appearances on Friday, via videoconference. Their attorneys were not able to comment on their behalf.
