Two NYPD Cops Suspended After Video Shows Unprovoked Violence On Peaceful Protesters

Police officers are canceling themselves out left and right.

The New York Police Department suspended two officers without pay after two videos surfaced showing their senseless use of violence on peaceful protesters during George Floyd demonstrations.

According to the New York Post, the first incident happened on May 29, in what appears to show unprovoked violence on Dounya Zayer, a protester in Brooklyn. The officer is heard calling Zayer a “stupid b—h” before pushing her to the ground. Zayer was hospitalized for a seizure and concussion following the incident.

The following day footage captured a second NYPD officer pulling a peaceful protester’s mask down to pepper spray him in the face.

The two videos have since gone viral and are examples of the unnecessary use of excessive force and violence by police.

Commissioner Dermot Shea announced Friday the NYPD is investigating the incidents.

“These incidents mentioned below are disturbing and run counter to the principles of NYPD training, as well as our mission of public safety,” Shea said. “The actions by these officers stand apart from the restrained work of the thousands of other officers who have worked tirelessly to protect those who are peacefully protesting and keep all New Yorkers safe.” She also mentioned other matters are in the process of investigation. “We will be transparent as the process continues.”

Protesters continue their protest across America against injustice and police brutality, as they endure police brutality. Be safe America.

“I beg everyone who is going back out tonight to protest to be careful. These police want to make an example out of us. They want to prove that they can hurt us and get away with it. Prove them wrong,” Zayer tweeted after her encounter.
