Ty Young Admits She Was Still Dating Men When She First Entered the WNBA – And Even Celebs Were Shooting Their Shot

Former WNBA star Ty Young is opening up about the mix of attention she received when she first stepped into the league, and it wasn’t just from fans. During her appearance on “The Baller Alert Show” with hosts Ferrari Simmons and BT, Young revealed that her rookie season with the Atlanta Dream came with plenty of personal plot twists.

“When I first got drafted, um, I did have a girlfriend at the time… I had a girlfriend at the time, but I still was dating men,” Young said. “Not, not while I’m with my girl… I still was attracted to men. And the guys were after me when I was drafted here.”

Young was drafted in the first round with the eighth overall pick in the 2008 draft by the Atlanta Dream. She instantly drew attention for her athleticism, style, and competitive drive. But off the court, her rookie year proved just as eventful.

“A-list celebrities, too was after me,” she revealed. “I ain’t going to name drop, but for sure.”

Although she kept things committed to her then-girlfriend, the relationship didn’t last long after she joined the league. “She was still in college, but yeah… she tried to play a game. You can’t play a game with me because I’m going to play a game back.”

Whether it was everyday admirers or Hollywood heavyweights, her rookie season proved she could handle both the spotlight and the scrutiny, without letting anyone run game on her. Now an assistant coach with the Chicago Sky and a “Basketball Wives“ star, Young remains a hot topic and highly sought after.
