Tyrese has finally surrendered to the police following his dog attack drama.
The signer turned himself in early Thursday morning at the Fulton County Jail, according to 11 Alive. The arrest came after weeks of legal back-and-forth over a fatal dog attack in his upscale Buckhead neighborhood.
Jail records show Tyrese was booked at 5:59 a.m. on October 3rd and released shortly afterward on a $20,000 bond. The actor faces charges of animal cruelty after authorities say his four dogs attacked and killed a five-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Henry.
The warrant was issued on September 22nd after Tyrese reportedly refused to turn over the dogs for investigation. In a statement, he expressed sympathy for the family who lost their pet.
“To the family who lost their beloved pet: please know that I am praying for you, grieving with you, and will continue to face this tragedy with honesty, responsibility, and compassion,” he wrote.
This isn’t the first time the dogs have drawn attention. Doorbell footage from the day of the incident showed the animals growling and barking moments before the fatal encounter.
Tyrese says he’s been trying to contact the family personally but hasn’t received a response.
