The singer and actor addressed the claims head-on in a recent video with the songwriter, explaining that McCall’s story isn’t the full truth. According to Tyrese, he didn’t refuse to help McCall; he just couldn’t take him in at the time.
“I just want you to tell people the real story,” Tyrese said in the clip. “All that viral s**t, imitating my voice and telling n***as I left you to the streets when you was homeless and f**ked up.”
Tyrese went on to explain that he was dealing with his own stuff, and it was no way he was going to move McCall into his home.
“So you think I’m about to move a n***a in with his own thing, accused of domestic violence, fighting for his own daughter, going through all that s**t?… I’m about to move a n***a like you into my s**t? F**k my s**t up? That ain’t gonna happen.”
Tyrese said he tried to help in the way he could through his connections.
“So I said, ‘Look, whoever you know, call them. And if they not f**kin with you, they might end up f**kin with you if I was a part of it, to at least stamp it.’”
McCall’s earlier interview with “Back On Figg” had sparked a social media storm after he accused Tyrese of not being there when he was homeless. In the viral clip, he also broke down crying while admitting to being on food stamps.
