Viral Video of North Carolina Man Punching Young Girl Leads to An Arrest

The power of social media is nothing short of amazing.

A disturbing video at the Asheville Mall in North Carolina grabbed a lot of attention and eventually led to the arrest of a violent man. Authorities arrested North Carolina’s David Steven Bell for a brutal attack on a 12-year-old black girl.

The footage showed a crowd surrounding Bell on the sidewalk outside of the mall. While there is no information on how the altercation began, you can see Bell being pushed from behind as other kids yelled and taunted him. Eventually, a young girl approached him, only to get forcefully shoved away. This clearly amped the young girl up enough to approach him a second time. Not even three steps were taken towards the 51-year-old before he used all of his strength to punch her in the face. She, then, collapsed to the ground, covering her face, as the video ended.

Bell was charged with two counts of assault on a female and assault on a female under the age of 12. However, “The Citizen-Times” reported he may have been released because he’s “not listed as a current inmate in Buncombe County Detention Center’s online records.”

The girl reportedly refused medical attention, and her parents have not come forward with a statement.
