Virgil Abloh’s groundbreaking work will be celebrated in Paris this fall with the Nike Virgil Abloh Archive exhibition, “The Codes.”
Running from September 30 to October 10, 2025, at the Grand Palais, the exhibition highlights his wide-ranging contributions to fashion, music, art, and sneaker design.
Organized by the Virgil Abloh Archive alongside Nike and supported by the Virgil Abloh Foundation, “The Codes” offers an immersive experience into Abloh’s creative universe. The exhibition demonstrates how he blurred the lines between streetwear and luxury fashion, making high-end design accessible to new audiences.
The show features over 20,000 objects, including sketches, prototypes, and personal belongings, providing visitors with an intimate look at his creative process. Every item reflects Abloh’s dedication to innovation, experimentation, and pushing cultural boundaries.
Abloh’s collaborations with Nike are among his most influential works. His Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1 Chicago reinvented the iconic sneaker with bold text, exposed stitching, and a deconstructed design. Other projects, such as the Air Presto, Blazer Mid, and Air Max 90, further explored his themes of accessibility, transparency, and disruption, blending performance footwear with fashion-forward aesthetics.
As the first Black designer to lead Louis Vuitton menswear and the founder of Off-White, Abloh reshaped modern fashion and left a lasting mark on culture.
The Paris edition of the exhibition builds on the 2022 Miami show, offering a deeper dive into his archive and emphasizing the enduring relevance of his work.
Through photographs and curated objects, the exhibition tells the story of a visionary who redefined style and creative expression. Visitors leave with a clear understanding of how Abloh’s vision continues to influence designers, fans, and the broader cultural landscape.
