The grind in the music business is often glamorized, but veteran executive Wayno is keeping it 100 about the financial toll that comes with reaching the top. During a guest appearance on “The Baller Alert Show,” Wayno joined Ferrari Simmons and BT to dismantle the myth that success equates to a bottomless pit of cash for everyone in your inner circle.

“We would like to believe that once you get money, you just like, ‘oh yeah, let me just take care of everybody,’ but that’s not how that s**t works. That’s not how money works,” Wayno revealed. He got incredibly personal, confessing that the weight of trying to stay afloat while carrying his entire family led to a complete financial collapse. “I’ve went broke taking care of family, like deada**.”
The discussion highlighted a recurring issue within the industry: the assumption that a high-profile title translates to total control over every aspect of a business. Wayno shared a hilarious yet telling story about a friend who requested a janitorial position at his office, completely misunderstanding his influence as a VP of A&R.
“How the hell would I know anything about what a janitor does?” he said, pointing out the gap between perception and reality.
Ferrari and BT weighed in on the entitlement that frequently follows fame, noting how quickly people expect a handout once they see a name in the headlines. Whether it’s family members feeling owed or friends expecting jobs they aren’t qualified for, the group agreed that the “luxury” seen on social media is often “the furthest from the truth.”
Wayno’s transparency serves as a wake-up call for anyone thinking that one big check solves everyone’s problems; sometimes, it just creates new ones.
