Website To Pay People $200 For Every Novel They Read

If you’re looking for some extra cash, a website is willing to pay you hundreds to read novels.

For every novel you read, you’ll get $200 according to WordsRated, a website that analyzes content in books. Newsweek reports the website is in search of “bibliophiles-at-large” to read popular literature. Some of the book titles include “The Seven Husband of Evelyn Hugo,” and “Where The Crawdads Sing,” among other highly-rated reads.

As part of the deal, participants will be assigned to read several books and take notes of specific details including how many characters by gender there are in the book, the number of sentences male and female characters are given, how many animals appear in the story, along with other tasks, Newsweek reports.

“We will use this data to create unique, data-driven studies and statistics about books,” WordsRated said, Newsweek reports. The website’s goal reportedly is to study how much representation women characters receive in modern novels, the news outlet reports.

And there’s no limit on how many books – which will come from a list of New York Times bestsellers – you can read.

“We give you books. You read them. We give you cold, hard cash,” the website continued. “We’re looking for people capable of devouring hundreds of pages with ease while paying attention to detail. Your job is to read the book and take notes on specific details.”
