Dr. Wendy Osefo is not letting a few fraud charges steal her joy.
On Sunday, the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star addressed the situation in an Instagram post. Dressed in a sleek black and white gown, Wendy posted a photo of herself with a caption that read, “And through it all, GOD remains faithful.” She followed up with a message of appreciation: “Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly, my family during this time. We are forever grateful.”
This marks her first public comment since her arrest on October 9th. The reality personality and her husband, Eddie, are facing 16 charges, including seven felonies, related to allegations of false insurance claims. Investigators say the Osefos reported a robbery during a vacation in Jamaica and claimed $450,000 worth of luxury items were stolen. But authorities allege that many of those items had already been returned to stores or were seen in later social media posts.
The legal trouble has led to changes in Wendy’s professional life as well. She resigned from her position at Wesleyan University, a decision her spokesperson emphasized was made independently before any public statement from the school.
Eddie also spoke out on Sunday, sharing a family photo with Wendy and their children. He too leaned into his faith, sharing a bible verse in the midst of their legal storm.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6,” Eddie captioned the image.
Despite the scandal, Wendy continues to appear on “RHOP,” though it’s unclear if she’ll be filming the next season.
