Windstar Cruises Will Require Passengers To Have Covid-19 Vaccination To Sail

Windstar Cruises announced that they would require proof of current COVID-19 vaccination for all guests sailing aboard Windstar’s yachtsThe cruise line said they reached this decision in the health interests of its guests, crew, and the destinations they visit.

Many destinations and other travel-related companies have either announced or are considering vaccine mandates for travel, providing further support for the new Windstar policy.

Windstar currently offers six boutique all-suite and sailing yachts (carrying fewer than 350 passengers each) that access the smaller ports, waterways, and destinations the large cruise ships cannot accommodate.

Windstar plans to restart operations in June of 2021 through a system of phases, with initial cruises at reduced guest occupancy, modified itineraries, and an enhanced set of health and safety protocols.

“Vaccination is another layer of safety for all of us, and it’s the responsible course of action as our yachts resume cruising and our guests travel the world,” Christopher Prelog, the President of Windstar Cruises, said.
