“Why Am I Disrespecting What God Loves?”: Yolanda Adams Calls For The Church To End Homophobia

Gospel icon Yolanda Adams is using her platform to challenge long-standing traditions of exclusion within the church.

In a powerful call for compassion, the singer spoke out against homophobia, urging religious spaces to become truly safe environments for the LGBTQ+ community. For Adams, the issue isn’t about theological debate, but about the fundamental way her family taught her to view humanity.

Reflecting on her decades of experience in the ministry, Adams emphasized that her upbringing shaped her inclusive worldview.

“Listen, I am 64 years old. I have seen everything in the church,” she explained. “And again, it has everything to do with the way you were nurtured. My family nurtured us to believe and know that everyone that gets to this earth got here because they are God’s children.” She pushed back against the idea of religious judgment, asking a simple but pointed question: “Why would you want to ever hurt anything that God loves?

The Grammy winner, who has friends and family across all walks of life, made it clear that a person’s identity should never be a reason for “debasement” or disrespect. She noted that her relationships in music, arts, and sports have only reinforced her belief in seeing people for who they truly are—beautiful. “It is not my job ever to hurt anyone or debase anyone because of who they are,” she stated firmly.

Closing her message with a reminder of divine intentionality, Adams argued that God is never caught off guard by who a person is. “God is not surprised by anyone he created. He knew who you would be before your mom and dad even got together,” she noted. “So why am I disrespecting what God respects and loves?”

As one of the most respected voices in Gospel, her stance marks a significant shift in the conversation regarding faith and the LGBTQ+ community.

Wow! It’s painfully obvious that this sister don’t know the scriptures. I’m not surprised since ALL CHRISTIANITY is locked in the deception of this IDOLATROUS RELIGION. God does indeed HATE!! Specifically he says there’s a people He hate ( Malachi 1:1-3) God also hate SODOMITES ie., Homos!! These are workers of iniquity (Psalms 5:5) Last I checked homosexuality IS A SIN!!! I don’t know what Bible these people are reading. This is PROOF that Christianity is A JOKE! This

We definitely know that homosexuality is a sin just like any other sin. Here’s what I’m understanding from Yolanda, is that the church should have more compassion for the sinner, remember we don’t condone the sin but at the same time we don’t condemn them as well. Jesus articulated that very well with the woman who was caught in adultery, he didn’t condone the sin but he also didn’t condem the woman !!!

Love your reply. We can love them to Jesus without condoning or embracing their lifestyle.

You are way too invested for this not to affect you negatively at all. If you are not apart of this community then mind your business. Who other people love is none of your business. Your hate for the LGBTQ community is not stronger than their love. Judgement is judgement and Hate is Hate.

So it’s not any of your business because the Bible also says “ it’s better a millstone be hung around your next than you be a busy body in other peoples matters.

Furthermore I’m sure you have done something’s in the privacy of your bedroom that are secret sins.

Oral sex is against God but I’m sure you have done it.

Don’t throw stones unless you want them throne back!

Please let me add that she is right, The Father isn’t caught off guard by who we are. He already knows the ones that will REJECT HIS TRUTH and follow after their own desires. These are NOT HIS CHILDREN!! We have to stop misrepresenting The Most High!! This is SICK!! Nowhere in His Word did He say He would create people to GO AGAINST HIS DIVINE NATURE. The SPIRIT OF SODOMY rests upon the children of Satan. And guess what, not only will they be judged but those people like Yolanda Adam’s, who justify and agree to this mental illness are in danger (Romans 1:32). The sad thing is I believe my sister already heard this. But she, like ALL OF CHRISTENDOM, have chosen to turn a blind eye. This sister is better off not saying a thing. But because she made it known to the world, through this article, whose side she’s on, her judgement is sealed.

It is not the eyes that are blind, but the heart.

There is so much biology that is left out of this argument. Right, wrong, or otherwise, if you have never had the biological issue with this, then please remain silent. The actual answer is not as simple as you may think it is. If you haven’t walked in the shoes of another, fall back.
