Young Thug Suggests Leaked Jail Calls Are AI—So We Spoke With Cobb County Jail

Several of rapper Young Thug’s leaked Cobb County jail calls have been suspected as AI, with the artist himself suggesting that some of the audio circulating online was artificially generated.

These calls included conversations about relationships, infidelity, rap beefs, snitching, and legal issues. While certain conversations appear authentic, others remain in question.

One of the most widely shared clips features Thug admitting to cheating on his girlfriend, Mariah The Scientist, saying, “Mariah don’t even know I’m in this b***h still f*****g.”

Another leak captured him expressing disappointment in alleged YSL partner and rapper Gunna, who he says cooperated with authorities. Thug is heard saying, “Gunna highly disappointed me, highly. The n***a telling like he got a wife and kids to go back home to … You can’t be mad if a n***a tell back.”

In an exclusive statement to Baller Alert, Cobb County Sheriff’s Office communications manager Hassan Glenn confirmed, “I’m sure there are some real calls and some AI … but yes, there are phone calls authentically obtained from the jail.”

There’s strong reason to believe that many of Thug’s conversations are real as he publicly addressed several of them. This includes a post, where he apologized to Mariah for cheating on X (formerly Twitter). 

However, he has dismissed other conversations as AI fakes, leaving the true scope of the leaks uncertain.
