Over the weekend, Young Thug was arrested on drug charges after officials say they found a few different drugs in his car and nearly $50,000 in cash.
The rapper was pulled over in Brookhaven on Clairmont Road for his tints. Officials executed a search of the 2016 Mercedes Benz Maybach, which then led to the arrest of Thug and two other men, who were in the car at the time.
According to the AJC, the rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, was taken into custody and booked on possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Xanax, codeine and ecstasy, and possession of a firearm during VGCSA (Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act). In addition, Williams was slapped with a misdemeanor for his tinted windows.
Williams’ lawyer told reporters that the allegations against his client were false, saying, “I will do everything that is lawful and ethical to clear Mr. Williams of this false allegation.”
As of Wednesday morning, the rapper was still in custody, scheduled to appear in court later in the day. However, he has since been released on bail.
