Young Thug’s Attorney Speaks: “Mr. Williams Committed No Crime Whatsoever”

Only time will tell the fate of Atlanta rapper Young Thug. On Monday, news broke that he was arrested for some pretty heavy allegations.

Both Young Thug and rapper Gunna are among the list of 28 defendants who have been named in an indictment out of Fulton County, Georgia. The charges include conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery, and participation in criminal street gang activity.

Luckily for Gunna, his one count of conspiring to violate the RICO Act isn’t as serious as his fellow rap associate Young Thug, who is already in custody at Fulton County Jail on several charges. On Monday, the Feds raided the “Super Slimey” co-creator’s home.

Thug’s attorney has quickly jumped to his defense, claiming his client has done nothing wrong. He told WSB-TV, Brian Steel that Thug is innocent of the numerous charges against him.

“I’ll tell you the response to any allegation; Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever,” Steel said. “And we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him.”

However, the indictment against Thug lists a gang of charges that don’t seem anything close to minor. Court documents say Young Thug rented a 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan from Hertz rental car company, and that the car was used in the commission of the murder of Donovan Thomas, Jr., in January 2015.

Prosecutors believe two associates of YSL, Christian Eppinger and Antonio Sumlin, also worked to get the green light from Young Thug to make a second attempt to murder rapper YFN Lucci who is behind bars in Fulton County.

Young Thug also faces charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the RICO Act.

Prosecutors alleged in the paperwork, “YSL is a criminal street gang that started in late 2012 in the Cleveland Avenue area of ATL” and say it is also affiliated with the national Bloods gang.

The rapper is expected to appear in court Tuesday, May 10.
