Adidas is unveiling a new weed-inspired colorway of the ZX 420 in honor of the annual stoner holiday 4/20.

The dark green hairy suede overlay panels that run the length of the mesh-based upper are inspired by cannabis strains’ appearance. Purple accents can be seen on the Three Stripes branding on the foot and the sock liner, heel counter, and portions of the sail midsole, adding to the mostly green color scheme.

This weed-inspired Adidas ZX 420 has already begun to appear at select retailers overseas, like Wellgosh, but the company has yet to announce a release in the United States. Official launch information should arrive in the coming days, but the price of the shoe will run at $100.

Today is 4/20, and since most of you are probably at home during this quarantine, you might as well sit back, relax, light something up to watch everything on Baller Alert’s top stoner movie list.

1. Mac & Devin Go To High School

Wiz Khalifa plays a brainy teenager who tries to help stoner Snoop Dogg finally graduate from high school.

2. Friday

This classic follows friends Craig Jones, played by Ice Cube, and Smokey, played by Chris Tucker, on a Friday afternoon in Los Angeles as they smoke and interact with all the people in their neighborhood.

3. Pineapple Express

Seth Rogan plays a stoner who has a rare strain of weed and witnesses a murder. He then goes on the run with his dealer, who is played by James Franco.

4. How High

Redman and Method Man play two friends who smoke something magical that makes them ace their college entrance exams, which lands them at Harvard.

5. Half Baked

Dave Chappelle and his two friends have to bail their friend out of NYC jail. So they raise money but selling stolen weed from a pharmaceutical lab.

6. Cheech & Chong Up in Smoke

 Chong meets Cheech in this comedy, and after the two stoners get released from jail, they go on adventures that end with them competing in a rock band contest.

7. Super High Me

This documentary follows comedian Doug Benson in an experiment where he doesn’t smoke or ingest any weed for 30 days and then smokes it for 30 days straight.

8. Harold & Kumar

Harold & Kumar have a series of stoner films, including Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, where the weed-loving duo gets into trouble.

9. High School

A high school senior smokes for the first time, and then his principal makes drug tests mandatory. He then teams up with stoners to steal weed and spike brownies at the school bake sale.

10. Ted

Mark Wahlberg’s childhood teddy bear comes to life and turns into a pot-smoking, beer-drinking best friend.

The Bathroom- You can throw a towel at the bottom of the door, turn the fan on and get as lifted as you like. Obviously, this isn’t ideal if you share your bathroom with roommates, parents, or small children, but if you have your own master bath or a secondary bathroom in the house, this could be the way to go. Pro-tip: keep the fan on after you’re done, and if you have one, open a window. The scent can linger a bit.

Patio/Backyard- Depending on your living space, the patio or yard would be the most ideal spot for your celebration as long as you have privacy. It’s also a plus if your neighbors aren’t nosey or prone to make phone calls for “suspicious activity.”

Go To The Car- Smoking in the car is always a fun time, or so we’ve heard. The smaller interior mixed with rolled-up windows is sure to give you a great hotbox experience.

The Basement/Garage- some of your parents still have their special cigarettes and favorite lounge chairs in the basement or a sitting area space in the garage. This isn’t a coincidence, it’s likely that they smoke too! You may learn something new about your folks during this time and can roll one up with them since there’s not much else to do. Practice social distancing, make sure you have your own blunt and remember sharing is not caring during coronavirus.

It’s officially 4/20, and what better way to celebrate than with smoking songs? Each year, stoners, marijuana lovers, and cannabis advocates look forward to April 20th, what’s best known as the weed holiday. In cannabis culture, the term 4/20 is slang for “time to smoke,” which means 4:20 pm is the go-to appointed time to spark up.

Of course, hip-hop and weed go hand-in-hand. Most recently, Wiz Khalifa celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Kush & Orange Juice, one of his most critically-acclaimed projects to date. Ludacris had every listener contact high with his 2008 hit single “Blueberry Yum Yum.” This is a weed song if there ever was one! “Get your lighters roll that sticky, let’s get high.” Blueberry Yum Yum sounds like a dank yogurt flavor… now imagine smoking it. Yes please.

2. Wiz Khalifa – “Still Blazin”

This literally starts out: “Why can’t everyone just smoke like me? Just gimme a quiet place and lemme roll my weed.” Wiz is the weed god, and we all aspire to be on his level of smoking. Honestly, this is just one out of a million smoking songs from the Taylor Gang founder, but it’s a KEEPER!

3. Afroman – “Because I Got High”

If you know, you know. This carefree, feel-good anthem reminds you that life is okay, and getting high is fun. Regardless of what you have to do for the day, sometimes you just need a smoke break. With the recent resurgence of marijuana legalization across the States, it’s only right to bring this record back.

4. Redman & Method Man – “How High”

Who wouldn’t want to get stoned with Redman and Method Man? Let’s be real. How high can you get so you can touch the sky? When Meth says, “excuse me as I kiss the sky,’ that was inspired by Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze.” This record was so fire, they had to make a “How High Pt. 2”!

5. Lil Wayne – “Kush”

“And we smoke that kush! And we ball like swoosh…” Lil Wayne is the GOAT, period. This is a timeless hit that you can bump any time, anywhere. We can only aspire to be as high at Weezy F. Baby. We can only suggest getting the highest quality flower to blaze to with this in the background.

6.  Styles P – “Good Times (I Get High)”

Every day, Styles P needs an ounce and a half! The New York spitter reminds audiences all across the world the benefits of marijuana, and the healing power it contains. For someone who hails from the hood, The Lox shares how weed numbs the pain for the better.

7.  Kid Cudi – “Up, Up, and Away”

“Day ‘N’ Nite” by Kid Cudi is a sure contender, but “Up, Up and Away” takes you into another dimension. In a world full of societal pressures and undeniable judgment, the Cleveland rapper reminds us that life is too short to worry or trip about the small things. 

8. Luniz – “I Got 5 On It”

Flashback to when we were kids and singing this song without knowing it was about weed. The chorus  “I got five on it, messin’ with that Indo weed. I got five on it, it’s got me stuck, and I’m tore back. I got five on it, partner let’s go half on a sack.” If you’re smoking alone (which you probably are because of quarantine), no need to share!

9. Bone Thugs N Harmony – “Weed Song”

This song is literally made for 4/20. The vibe, the lyrics, the inspiration… “Weed Song” makes you forget all your troubles and get lifted. The legendary rap group has had much success with a slew of hits under their belt, but this record was made for stoners. Even the visual bringing it back to 2009 showcases the positive benefits of marijuana. Chill out and smoke one!

10. Cypress Hill – “Hits From The Bong”

Remember when bong rips were the shit? Maybe in college when your bong was your best friend, or when your friend accidentally shattered your favorite glass piece. Cypress Hill brings us back to those good days, where getting high meant less worries and simpler times.

11. Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Nate Dogg – “The Next Episode” (We had to add this banger)

“Smoke weed erryday!” This song is a classic, and the absolute perfect anthem to celebrate 4/20. Rest in peace to the late Nate Dogg, who’s voice will forever be remembered for eternity. If you’re feeling yourself on 4/20, put this on in the background and make some new memories.

It’s #420! The day we celebrate everything marijuana. If you have any special plans or you plan on inviting friends over for a movie and smoke session, here are some classic films that will leave you lifted and laughing.

1. How High (2001)- How High has easily become a smoker’s go-to movie; it stars #MethodMan and #Redman. The two characters end up accidentally smoking their best friend’s magic ashes, which then allows them to see friend. Method and Red use that power to pass the SAT’s and get into college.

2. Friday Trilogy (1995 – 2002)-I mean, do you really need to be high to watch these three hilarious films? The #Friday trilogy which is jam-packed with stars including #IceCube, #ChrisTucker, #MikeEpps, #ReginaKing and so many more. The franchise is based off two friends who end up having to find a way to save their lives after a drug dealer demands his money back. The films have now featured several adventures with a pimp and his shop, an angry baby mama and a family barbecue business. Getting fired on your day off has led to exciting events.

3. Pineapple Express (2008)- A true high times classic Pineapple Express tells the story of a man and his drug dealer who become entangled in a murder after witnessing the crime. Now they have to escape the pursuit of a crooked cop and a drug lord. The movie stars Seth Rogen and #JamesFranco.

4. Cheech and Chong’s: Up In Smoke (1978)- Tucked away in the marijuana movie vault is Cheech and Chong’s: Up In Smoke. This film follows the misadventures of an unemployed smoker and an amateur drummer as they journey on the road after leaving home and their strict parents. The film stars #CheechMarin and #TommyChong.

5. Half-Baked (1998)- Imagine having to sell stolen weed from a pharmaceutical lab to bail your friend out of jail because he killed a New York police horse by feeding it junk food. That’s the story of Half-Baked, which stars #DaveChappelle.

6. Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle (2004)- The infamous tale of two friends who get so high while watching TV and become hungry for #WhiteCastle after seeing a commercial for the restaurant. The two’s journey ends up leading them to meet some strange characters. The film stars #JohnCho and #KalPenn.

7. The Wash (2001)- #SnoopDogg and #DrDre, what more can you ask for in a movie? The two rappers turned actors play two car wash workers who have to work together to save the shop’s owner after he was kidnapped.

8. Dazed and Confused (1993)-This is coming-of-age film follows the mayhem of group of rowdy teenagers in Austin, Texas, celebrating the last day of high school in 1976. It stars #MatthewMcConaughey, #BenAfleck and more.

9. Superbad (2007)- Before heading off to college these two high school seniors have one goal: get laid. But they run into several adventures which include almost getting beat up by a girl’s boyfriend, illegally buying alcohol and befriending crooked police. The film stars #JonahHill, #SethRogen, #EmmaStone and more.

10. Napoleon Dynamite (2004)- This movie is an overall classic that will have you laughing until it hurts. #NapoleonDynamite tells the story of a socially awkward, yet confident high school outcast who sets out to get his friend elected as class president.

I remember when this record dropped…You have to admit the song is catchy and the perfect song to describe the excuses that high people give… “I was going to clean up my room until I got high. 2. Rihanna – James Joint –  It’s no secret that the beautiful Bajan superstar likes to puff an L or two. On her 8^th studio album, the badgal provides a short smooth vibe with “James Joint.” Written and named after James Fauntleroy, the song explores the relationship between Rihanna and her weed, or her lover. For the sake of 420, let’s say it’s about the bud. “I’d rather be smoking weed. Whenever we breathe. Every time you kiss me. Don’t say that you miss me. Just come get me. Don’t know why just know I want to Don’t know why just know I want you”

3. Dr. Dre- The Next Episode was truly the smoke it up joint. Not only was the song a classic that featured Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and the late Nate Dogg. The video featured weed, weed, weed, girls dancing, partying, and did we mention weed. “Hold up ayyyyye….”

4. Crucial Conflict- Hay was the roll it up song and a party song. This song came out 1996 and you can’t tell me your momma and daddy wasn’t rolling it up during FreakNik Atlanta to this song. “Hayyyyy in the middle of the barn smoking on weed.”

5. Styles P- I Get High says it all. The song came out in 2002 and you couldn’t tell me Ruff Ryders wasn’t popping then. I don’t anyone who wasn’t singing the hook. If you didn’t know all the words, you at least knew the chorus…. I get high, high, high, high…everyday!

6. “Marijuana” – Kid Cudi – Cudi raps about his love for the herb, he discusses how the weed settles his mind and clears his head. However, after the release of this song, Cudi quit smoking for a short period of time.

“And all my niggas rollin up in the booth. Who got me on another one. Someone please roll me another one. They tell me all good things must end. Well those muthafucka’s ain’t have this friend I keep it.”

7. Rick James- Mary Jane was definitely the beginning of ‘high’ music for me. I know most of you remember Craig and Smokey getting high to the classic song at the beginning of Friday. Before this song, I didn’t know many artists that made an entire song about Mary Jane making them feel good and how strong their love was for it. “I’m in love with Mary Jane, she is my main thing. She makes me feel alright….Takes me to paradise!”

8.  Lil Wayne – “I Feel Like Dying”- If you couldn’t tell by now, weed is one of Lil Wayne’s favorite things. But, when the drugs are gone, an undesirable feeling of depression and pain comes over him, as he goes through withdrawal.

9. Jhene Aiko’s Higher referenced her love to weed. Honestly, all of her music makes me feel like I am high…I mean the beats are real slow and her voice takes me to a place that I do not go very often.

10. Method Man and Red Man- How High…Let’s just say they don’t make music like this anymore. These guys are classic even when it came to getting high… I miss these days! I loved me some Method Man and Redman. “Look up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane/ It’s the funk doctor spock smokin buddha on a train/ How high? So high that I can kiss the sky/ (Up, up to the sky!)”

11. Luniz- I Got 5 On It… Where were you when this song came out? Another classic that everyone was singing and bobbing their heads to. You can’t help by sing the chorus and think about the good “times” ….”I got 5 on it lets go half on a sack.” 

12. Three 6 Mafia- I Stay High… This video use to freak me out. They made classics from ‘Sippin on some syrup’ to ‘Weak A** B****h’… Oh did I mention they are Academy Award winners from Hustle & Flow’s It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp. ” “What’s up Mary! Mary Jane!/Since I have met you, girl, you ruined my brain/You stole my heart, right from the start”

13. Wiz Khalifa- Up… you can’t do a countdown without adding Wiz… Self-explainatory here! If you ever went to a Wiz show, then you know you are guaranteed to leave high off on contact. I thought this song was perfect for the holiday… “We go up, up, up, up…so high I am not coming down.”
