Stans and fans are seemingly trying to start a beef between Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B,  and Thee Hottie ain’t having it.

Why must we continue to pin female rappers against one another? Megan Thee Stallion has become well-known for her warm heart and the endless support she extends to not only female rappers but female artists in general. But, on Wednesday, Meg had to clear up an allegation that she liked comments on her YouTube page that took shots at fellow rapper Cardi B.⠀⠀⠀

According to Bossip, fans sent screenshots of the comments and a like from Megan’s official account, but the Texas native said the actions came from her label 1501 Certified Entertainment, not her. One of the comments on YouTube read, “So I’m guessing y’all females leaving Cardi B in 2019???,” which was liked by the Megan YouTube page. However, Meg addressed the issue, saying her label controls her YouTube account and that she has no beef with anyone.

“I did not like no damn stupid a** comment like this,” Thee Stallion replied to a fan. “I don’t even upload my own s**t to my YouTube my label does. I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANYBODY. I don’t like drama; I do not bring other females down stop trying to start fake beef,” said Megan in response to a tweet.

Another Twitter user added the City Girls into the mix writing, “Yung Miami been knew something was up with sis….” as another added,”JT still likes the horse ugh.” But JT shut down the shadiness responding with, “You wanna get unfollowed? I don’t do drama.”

Let’s just say, find some business that pays you, y’all.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning, on the entrance ramp to northbound I-95. Around 4 a.m., a white Chevrolet sedan pulled up next to a white Honda and fired 6-7 shots at the men.

All three passengers were struck by the gunfire, according to CBS Miami. The driver, who has been identified as 27-year-old Justin Harris, was hit in the right arm. The front passenger was also hit in the right arm, while the backseat victim was shot in the hand.

Social media star and rapper Saucy Santana is said to be one of the three victims. However, his talent agency said that all three victims have been transported to a hospital and are in stable condition.

2019 has definitely been the year of the woman, as women have dominated the charts and created even more lanes for themselves in the rap game. Now more than ever, female rappers are getting the respect they deserve as a new crop of talented ladies are taking over.  ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This list features some of the new acts taking center stage as well as some of our favorites who simply can’t be stopped.

First up on the list at number 10 is an underrated standout-Tierra Whack. The Philly born rapper, poet, and spoken word performer has brilliantly exhibited creative styles since her debut. Whack started her year with a bang, a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video for the song “Mumbo Jumbo” and releasing a single a week for five straight weeks for the entire month of February as #whackhistorymonth. She was even featured with Queen Bey herself on the track “My Power” from the album  “The Lion King: The Gift.”  Whack has already established herself as a critical darling and one to watch who has only just begun to take over the rap game.

9. Kash Doll has been on her grind for a minute, and with the release of her latest album “Stacked,” the Detroit born rapper is establishing herself as a force.  In 2019 we’ve seen her holding her own and “Mobbin” with some of rap’s most respected male artists as well, including Lil Wayne and Meek Mill.

8. What’s any best rapper list without Nicki Minaj? Even though the Queen from Queens didn’t release a new album this year, she still stayed on the charts with the hit “Megatron” and her feature on Meg Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” release. Nicki is a veteran in the rap game, yet she’s still as relevant and controversial as ever with retirement rumors and antics that kept her on the list for 2019.

7. Missy Elliott makes the list by showing us exactly why she’s reached icon status. The Virginia born rapper dropped a new album “Iconology” this year as well as a show-stopping performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, where the Songwriters Hall of Famer took home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her amazingly creative catalog of visuals. Missy is and will always be an innovator in this rap game and came back strong with her single and video “Throw it Back” earlier this year.

6. Saweetie is a newbie who comes in at number 6 after dropping one of the hottest anthems of the summer with her Gold hit “My Type” from her second major-label EP, “Icy.” The Bay Area rapper brings an infectious energy to the game.

5. Cardi B definitely doesn’t need more press, but she’s still a dominant force in the rap game in 2019. After starting her year as the first female rapper to take home a Grammy award for “Best Rap Album,” she’s stayed busy with hot guest appearances on Bruno Mars’ “Please Me,” City Girls’ “Twerk” and hubby Offset’s single “Clout.” If that wasn’t enough- Cardi can add Hollywood star to her resume with a starring role in this year’s “Hustlers” alongside fellow Bronx native Jennifer Lopez.

4. Rapsody makes the list as easily the most critically acclaimed female rap artist of the year. Her new album “Eve,” released this summer, continues her winning streak of dropping conscious, lyrically impressive rap music that pays respect to the culture of hip hop first and foremost. The North Carolina native is already considered a lyrical heavyweight, and songs like “Afeni,” “Nina,” and “Oprah” show her depth and substance as both an artist and as a black woman.

3. City Girls make the list at number 3. Yung Miami and JT will no doubt be blazing trails way into 2020 now that JT is home. The duo hit us with two platinum-selling hits this year with “Twerk” and “Act Up,” and now that both ladies have finished their “bids,” we can expect to see big things from them as a unit, as we move into the end of the year.

2. Meg Thee Stallion has had the second most phenomenal year of all the females on this list.  The Houston, Texas native dropped one of the hottest rap albums of the year with “Fever” and is single-handedly responsible for 2019’s “Hot Girl Summer” movement. Meg is also proving that Hot Girls have brains too by continuing her education, all while tearing up the charts and festival dates. Meg has already taken home awards for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” at the BET Awards and “Best Power Anthem” at the MTV Video Music Awards for 2019. 

1. Coming in at number 1 is this year’s biggest breakout star –Lizzo. The Houston native has been grinding her way to the top spot since we first took notice of her hit single “Truth Hurts” in 2017. Lizzo’s success has been a while in the making, the rapper, singer, songwriter made history when the song finally reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, becoming her first number-one single- two years after its original release. Lizzo has also established herself as a classically trained flutist and actress, she also appeared along with Cardi B and J.Lo in “Hustlers.”

This summer, Yung Miami announced to the world about her pregnancy and still managed to hold the City Girls down until her other half JT made it home from prison this week. To show love to Caresha and the newest addition to the City Girls family, McDonald’s surprised the raptress with a chilly gift…and it’s not a McFlurry.

The world-renowned fast-food chain sent a diamond and ruby-encrusted “World Famous Fries” chain necklace, and Yung Miami took to Instagram to thank the franchise for the special gift. “Thank you Mc Donald’s for my small fry chain. I love it just as much as I love my 6 piece nuggets with my sweet & sour sauce ? Now can I get a commercial? @mcdonalds”

Caresha has been holding the City Girls’ down for Quality Control and with JT back, she can relax a little more and prepare for the arrival of her daughter. Shout out to McDonald’s for bringing positive vibes to the mommy-to-be. Congratulations, Yung Miami!

Establishing healthy lifestyles and eating clean is the new wave, but it won’t stop City Girls’ Yung Miami from grabbing chicken nuggets from McDonald’s. The rapper has been vocal on social media about her love for the fast-food chain, and ironically, they gifted her a chain of her very own. As a gift for being an unofficial spokesperson and soon-to-be mom, the McDonald’s Corporation sent Yung Miami a small fry necklace. 

The iced out chain is diamond-encrusted and came with a handwritten note stating, “Congratulations on your soon-to-be small fry! We wanted to help you celebrate in true City Girl style with this specially designed, one of a kind take on your favorite McDonald’s menu item. Enjoy your brand new chain, an iced out McDonald’s World Famous Fry Box! City Girls going platinum!” Yung Miami posted a clip of the note and jewelry on Instagram with a caption that said, “Lol, Thank you, Mc Donald’s for my small fry chain. I love it just as much as I love my 6 piece nuggets with my sweet & sour sauce. Now can I get a commercial?” Social media reacted to the news with fans tweeting, “at this point McDonald’s need to just cut Yung Miami a check” and City Girl member JT even commented on the post saying, “this why the ice cream machine don’t be working.”

Congrats to the new mom and well wishes for a safe and health delivery.

“YOU BITCHES IN TROUBLE!! MY BITCH HOME!” Yung Miami wrote on Instagram. Shortly after, a slew of artists and hip-hop figures commented, welcoming the other half of City Girls home, as she shared her first image on her own page, writing, “BITCH IM RIGHT ON TIME FOR THE SEASON CHANGE.”

In celebration of her release, the Miami-bred rapper blessed fans with a new song titled “First Day Out.” Produced by Twysted Genius, the song dropped at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday, giving fans something to look forward to as she reconnects with her other half.

In the summer of 2018, JT began serving a 24-month prison sentence on credit card fraud charges. But, at the same time, the City Girls also began making a name for themselves in the industry. 

“It’s a minor setback for a major comeback because it’s a movement. Everybody know JT now,” Yung Miami told Rolling Stone last summer. “When she come back, everyone will be paying attention. When she get out, she gon’ be big. God brought us this far.”

It was initially reported that JT, who’s legal name Jatavia Shakara Johnson, would be released in March 2020; but during a red carpet interview back in August, Quality Control boss Pierre “Pee” Thomas said the rapper would be home “within the next 90 days.”

“When JT come home she going to the halfway house,” Thomas said during an August Hot 97 interview, ” but the great thing about the halfway house is they let you go on work release, so soon as she’s out she’s gonna be locked in the studio working.”

Video of the incident was taken by an unidentified witness, who posted to Instagram with the caption, “I got the story first because I was standing right there. Caresha new G Wagon was shot at leaving Circle House…YALL need to give her better security! Poor baby was running across the street tryna run b4 police came. Smh wow prayers for her and baby 808’s protection.”

However, the unidentified witness has had their handle redacted while police investigate the shooting. 

After the shooting, Yung Miami explained the chaotic scene but failed to share any additional details. “They had their lights off, so I never saw them. I don’t know where they came from,” she said.

Ever since it was revealed that Lil Yachty wrote most of City Girls’ now-platinum-selling summer smash, “Act Up,” there’s been heavy debate about female rappers and ghostwriting. As if we didn’t learn enough about ghostwriting a few years ago with the Drake, the debate is still on…and Cardi B isn’t here for the City Girls slander.

Yung Miami, one half of the City Girls duo, recently took to Instagram to express her frustration with people talking about her rapping Yachty’s lyrics. She posted, “A HIT IS A HIT!!! Some of y’all h**es need writers PERIODT”. But, when a commenter stated fellow group member, JT was the real force behind the group, Miami replied, “And you still know my sh** word for word NEXT.”

Shortly thereafter, Texas rapper Asian Da Doll hopped on Twitter to proclaim that she and #MeganTheeStallion write their own songs, tweeting “We be writing our shit #theestallion.” She then tweeted a disclaimer to those who were saying her tweet was subliminal. “If I’m talking about anybody I’ll put a date name & address on it wtf do me saying I write my shit gotta do with anybody…. everybody who write they music love saying they write they music if you get offended that’s on YOU I love bragging on myself idgaf,” she wrote. 

After all of that, Megan Thee Stallion simply replied via Instagram, “I mind my business, make my money, and support everyone. I ain’t in no drama”, which in Layman’s Terms means my name is Bennett and I ain’t in it. 

Then finally to put it all to rest, Cardi B addressed the issue on Instagram Live and went in on critics with some true facts. Cardi said, “I bet you rap that whole f**king song with your whole motherf**king heart, b**ch!” 

Cardi has been supportive of her QC labelmates from the beginning and has also dealt with ghostwriting accusations in the past. She said regardless of who wrote it, the ladies with men issues are the main ones rapping along to the summer anthem, with the City Girls accent and all. “I bet you use they accent though! You not using Lil Yachty accent, you using they accent! The f**k! Y’all be singing that song with y’all whole f**king chest. Y’all b**ches be hating.”

Just know that if you come for the City Girls, Cardi B will come for you!

“I was just explaining to Yung Miami, If she go in there and she end up doing two years instead of six months because she can’t control her anger, that’s gonna affect you,” Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas said ahead of surrender date. 

Although the reason for the initial delay remains unclear, after almost 11 months in prison, JT is still fighting for early release. 

JT’s legal team says she’s earned 108 days of good conduct time credit, which is almost four months. However, in addition to her good time credit, JT’s team also highlights her newfound fame as the main reason for JT’s early release to a halfway house.

JT “is one of two girls that make up the rap duo City Girls,” JT’s attorney said according to The Blast, adding that as of July 12, 2019, the rapper would have completed “15.6 months (12 months plus 3.6 months earned good time credit), thereby leaving 8.4 months of her sentence to be served.” 

“Beginning around her change of plea City Girls became a force in the music industry,” the lawyer continued. “They have grown an intense fan base and have developed relationships with the elite of the elite. It is without hesitation that I can proffer that you will never hear from this Defendant regarding any type of crime much less an economic one. Granting this recommendation will allow the Defendant to get back to the studio where she belongs.” 

Although the judge denied the motion, he moved for the Bureau of Prisons to make the decision, which still offers the opportunity for JT to be released early based on the Bureau’s discretion. So, until then, it’s #FreeJT, til they Free JT.

There is nothing wrong with a friendly fashion battle among the celebs. Many celebs have been seen out and about in some of the same haute pieces. The pieces are possibly the hottest and trendiest items in Hollywood. In today’s showcase of Baller Alert’s Who Wore It Better, we have Tommie vs. Yung Miami of City Girls in Versace’s Alphabet Print Leggings and Printed Logo T-Shirt.

On Friday, ”Love and Hip-Hop” reality star Tommie Lee posed for the ‘gram wearing Versace’s $795 Alphabet Print Leggings and $495 Printed Logo T-Shirt. Her look was completed with a #Chanel fanny pack and black over-the-knee boots.

Back in December, Yung Miami of City Girls was spotted in the same ensemble. Her look was styled with a white fur coat and Versace’s Medusa studded heels.

The high waist alphabet leggings feature a zip closure on the reverse with embellished zippers on the ankles.

The Versace sleeveless crew neck has a loose fit that features an embroidered vertical 90s Vintage Logo.

According to the luxury brand’s site, the print on the leggings was reimagined from their spring/summer 1992 collection, which was featured in the book “South Beach Stories.”
