15 Christmas Movies To Get You Into The Holiday Spirit

It’s Christmas Eve Eve and while the warm weather is hindering the holiday spirit for some, it’s not too late to turn up the cheer by watching some holiday favorites.

Here are 15 of my favorite holiday movies ranging from classics to comedies. Check out my list below and let me know what your favorites are.

 

1.  Almost ChristmasSynopsis: A dysfunctional family gathers together for their first Christmas since their mom died. Stars Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Omar Epps, Keri Hilson, Kimberly Elise, DC Young Fly and more.

 

2. The Best Man Holiday – Synopsis: When college friends reunite after 15 years over the Christmas holidays, they discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be reignited.

 

3. Bad Santa 2 – Synopsis: Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus, to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve.

 

4. A Christmas StorySynopsis: Ralphie has to convince his parents, his teacher, and Santa that a Red Ryder B.B. gun really is the perfect gift for the 1940s.

 

5. Friday After NextSynopsis: Craig and Day Day have finally moved out of their parents houses and into their own crib. The cousins work nights at a local mall as security guards. When their house is robbed on Christmas Eve they team up to track him down.

 

6. Jingle All The WaySynopsis: A father vows to get his son a Turbo Man action figure for Christmas, however, every store is sold out of them, and he must travel all over town and compete with everybody else in order to find one.

 

7. The Preacher’s Wife – Synopsis: Good natured Reverend Henry Biggs finds that his marriage to choir mistress Julia is flagging, due to his constant absence caring for the deprived neighborhood they live in. On top of all this, his church is coming under threat from property developer Joe Hamilton. In desperation, Rev. Biggs prays to God for help – and help arrives in the form of an angel named Dudley. However, Dudley’s arrival seems to cause even more trouble.

 

8. The Nightmare Before ChristmasSynopsis: Jack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but doesn’t quite understand the concept.

 

9. The Santa ClauseSynopsis: When a man inadvertently kills Santa on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.

10. Tyler Perry’s A Madea ChristmasSynopsis:  Madea dispenses her unique form of holiday spirit on rural town when she’s coaxed into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas.

 

11. This ChristmasSynopsis:  A Christmastime drama centered around the Whitfield family’s first holiday together in four years. Stars Columbus Short, Regina King, Delroy Lindo, Chris Brown and more.

 

12. ElfSynopsis: After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.

 

13. How The Grinch Stole ChristmasSynopsis: On the outskirts of Whoville, there lives a green, revenge-seeking Grinch who plans on ruining the Christmas holiday for all of the citizens of the town.

 

14. Home AloneSynopsis: An 8-year old troublemaker must protect his home from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation.

 

15. Office Christmas PartySynopsis:  When his uptight CEO sister threatens to shut down his branch, the branch manager throws an epic Christmas party in order to land a big client and save the day, but the party gets way out of hand…
