7-Year Old Girl Swims To Shore After Kidnapper Throws Her From A Bridge

On Sunday, a seven-year old Massachusetts girl was kidnapped from her family party at her grandparent’s home.

Worcester police say around 2:30 am , family friend, 35-year old , Joshua Hubert took the child without her parent’s permission.

Hubert then allegedly choke the girl and threw her into Lake Quinsigamond. At about 4 am , she swam to the shore of Shrewsbury. She had visible injuries, but they were not life threatening.

On Monday, Hubert was arraigned. He is being held without bail. Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early felt a greater tragedy was averted . “The young victim had the strength to make it to shore and get help. I want to thank the resident who answered the door and helped the girl.”
