Aaron Hernandez Wrote “John 3:16” On His Forehead Before Committing Suicide

According to reports, Aaron Hernandez left one final message before hanging himself in his prison cell early Wednesday morning.

According to law enforcement sources, before he hanged himself, Hernandez wrote John 3:16 above his eyes, on his forehead. For those unfamiliar with this verse, it reads “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Fox 25 reports that the passage was written on Hernandez’s forehead in blood red marker. His Bible in his cell was also open to that verse.  According to WBZ Boston, investigators are also looking into the possibility that Hernandez had somehow gotten his hands on synthetic marijuana and smoked it prior to his suicide.
A spokesman for the Massachusetts Department of Correction says that there was no indication that Hernandez was suicidal and if there had been, he would’ve been placed on suicide watch in a different part of the prison.
Hernandez’s close friend is on suicide watch tonight after being the last person to see him alive in his prison cell, sources say.
