15 years ago today, 50 Cent released his debut studio album ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’’ on Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope Records and Universal Music Group.

Featuring production from two hip-hop heavy hitters, Dr. Dre and Eminem, the album was a well-developed body of work that encompassed the street style that is 50 Cent.

Through his lyricism and New York swagger, the album marked the beginning of the legacy 50 would leave behind.

The album debuted and peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200, with over 872,000 copies sold in the 1st week. The album generated over 5 singles, two of them being #1 hits “In da Club” and “21 Questions”, along with the international hit “P.I.M.P.”

‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’’ has sold over 8.4 million copies in the United States and was certified 6× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The album earned 50 a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album. It also has been ranked #37 on Rolling Stone’s list of best albums of the 2000s.
