Baller Alert’s Today in Hip-Hop: Terror Squad Released “Lean Back” 14 Years Ago

On June 8, 2004, 14 years ago today, #TerrorSquad released their second single, “Lean Back,” from their second studio album, “True Story.” The hip-hop dance track featured #FatJoe and #RemyMa with production by Scott Storch.

The song became both artists’ biggest hits, as it topped the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks and the R&B charts for more than four. All Music’s Jason Birchmeier described the song as the “perfect club-ready duet between Joe and Remy Ma that boasts a trademark Scott Storch beat and a memorable singalong hook and dance-along step,” and Vibe dubbed it a “summer classic.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The record sold more than 500,000 copies in the United States.
