BET Set To Produce “Boomerang” Half-Hour Comedy Series Reboot

BET has announced a slew of new shows and it’s adding to the list the classic 1992 Eddie Murphy film, “Boomerang.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the entertainment television company announced they will be producing a half-hour comedy that will follow a business executive, like Murphy’s character in the movie with “contemporary workplace dynamics, including the changing role of gender, office politics, relationships and the conflicts between Generation X and millennials.”

There was no writer or producer announced, and it remains unclear if Murphy will have a hand in the production. In fact, there has been no mention of an appearance by any of the original cast of characters including Halle Berry, Robin Givens, or Grace Jones.
