Chrissy Teigen Offers to Pay McKayla Maroney’s $100k Fine for Speaking Out Against Larry Nassar

As news continues to surface about Team USA doctor Larry Nassar, model Chrissy Teigen is now pleading for McKayla Maroney to speak up against Nassar’s behavior.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Teigen says she would be “honored” to pay the $100,000 fine Maroney may be forced to pay for breaking a nondisclosure agreement.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Maroney, a gold medal winner of the “Fierce Five” team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, revealed this past October that she was abused by Nassar from age 13 until her last year with the team in 2016.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
In December, Maroney filed a lawsuit against the United States Olympic Committee, USA Gymnastics and Michigan State claiming that she was given a settlement in 2016 and was “forced to agree to a nondisparagement clause and confidentiality provision,” in which she would be fined $100,000 if ever spoke out about Nassar’s behavior.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
“The entire principle of this should be fought,” Teigen tweeted Tuesday as Nassar’s sentencing hearing began. “An NDA to stay quiet about this serial monster with over 140 accusers, but I would be absolutely honored to pay this fine for you, McKayla.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
After opening up in October about what happened to her, it’s possible that she is already in violation of the NDA.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
The settlement Maroney received was reportedly worth $1.25 million. USA Gymnastics responded to her lawsuit saying, “Contrary to reports, the concept of confidentiality was initiated by McKayla’s attorney, not USA Gymnastics.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over 100 women have come forward against Nassar, including US Olympic team members, Aly Raisman, Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas.
