Cleveland Browns Players Deny Involvement In Alleged Rape Inside Shared Apartment

Blogged By: @carmen.roxanna

A 22-year-old woman alleges that she was raped in the shared apartment of Cleveland Brown’s players, David Njoku and Rashard Higgins. Although the two #NFL athletes are not involved in the accusation, they were questioned by police regarding the involvement of their mutual friend and the accused, Kashwayne Nelson.

According to TMZ, the woman claims she arrived at the player’s residence in the early hours of Saturday morning after drinking with friends. She says she fell asleep in Higgins’ bed, but when she woke up a 3rd man — Kashwayne Nelson — was having sex with her. She immediately tried to call #911, but Nelson allegedly pulled the phone away and grabbed her by the hair.

Higgins stated he was not present at the residence when the incident happened. Njoku says he was in his room the entire evening and was unaware of the incident.

Nelson was arrested on suspicion of rape as well as obstruction of justice, when cops learned he gave them a fake id when asked for identification.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The #Browns team issued a statement to Ohio.com saying, “Rashard immediately notified us of the situation and he and David fully cooperated with the police while being interviewed. While our players were not the target of any allegations involving illegal activity, they understand the seriousness of the situation, and we have expressed our concerns regarding the matter. They will continue to cooperate with the authorities as needed.”
