LeBron James To Receive Icon Award From Harlem’s Fashion Row

LeBron James is pretty much doing it all. He’s an activist, a three-time NBA champion and now he is being honored as an icon.

On Wednesday (Sept. 5), Harlem’s Fashion Row will be presenting James with an icon award during New York Fashion Week. The event will include presentations from fashion designers Kimberly Goldson, Undra Celeste NY and Fe Noel as well as a dinner honoring King James, Harlem stylist Dapper Dan, Bethann Hardison, and stylist Jason Rembert, according to sports reporter Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The event is titled “The Strongest,” and James will act as a presenter as well as an honoree. James was once well-known for his oversized all-white suit from back in 2003. But since then, James has transformed his style into tailored, fitted suits that portray his unique sense of style. He also received recognition for his sense of fashion when he dressed his Cleveland Cavalier teammates in Thom Browne suits during the 2018 NBA playoffs.

It seems as if this is James’ glowing season, as he just signed with the LA Lakers, launched several projects in the TV industry including the highly anticipated HBO series “The Shop,” and more importantly he just opened up his “I Promise” School which seeks to give challenged students the education and financial support they deserve.

“We are going to be that groundbreaking school that will be a nationally recognized model for urban and public school excellence,” I Promise principal and Akron native Brandi Davis said during a press conference. “We are letting people know it is about true wrap-around support, true family integration, and true compassion.”
