Mariah Carey’s Billionaire Fiance Leaves Her

It’s quite possible that Mariah Carey won’t be seeing her sweet sweet fantasy wedding any time soon. According to reports, Mariah’s billionaire fiance, James Packer, has called it quits — possibly for good.

Sources tell Page Six that Packer was sick of Mariah’s “extravagant spending” and newfound love for reality TV. “James had huge reservations about Mariah’s new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world,” a family friend added.

Mariah Carey and the Australian casino mogul had been engaged for almost a year. He was noticeably absent from the singer’s star studded Halloween party over the weekend. “James is very generous, but Mariah takes it to the next level,” a source tells Page Six of Mariah’s spending habits.

Apparently, Packer wasn’t feeling the reality show idea since the beginning and it became a major source of conflict for the couple. A recent argument over Mariah not attending Packer’s sister’s birthday party sent things over the edge.

“When she refused to come to Australia for [Packer’s sister’s] birthday party it created a lot of tension in the family,” a friend said. “His mom hated to even hear her name mentioned, and James’ tight circle of friends never really thought they would marry.”

Reportedly James Packer let Mariah keep the iced out $10 million diamond engagement ring he gave her when he proposed back in January. Hopefully these two can work it out, but if spending was an issue, James Packer should have known what he was getting into. We all know Mariah’s lifestyle is extravagant and always has been. We saw her episode of MTV’s Cribs!
