Matt Barnes is celebrating more than the birth of his new baby, Ashton Joseph Barnes. The former NBA player also received a reduction in child support.
According to The Blast, the judge in the case between Barnes and Gloria Govan ruled in favor of Barnes in his request to get his child support reduced, especially since he has primary custody of their twin boys.
Barnes was paying Govan $20K a month in child support. The former professional basketball player claimed he couldn’t afford the payments after retiring.
Barnes argued to have his payments reduced to $7,500 a month, $3,750 per child. The judge in the case agreed and signed off on Barnes’ exact amount.
The child support reduction is only temporary until legal issues between the two are resolved.
