The former wife of Prince also gave birth to The Purple One’s only child and is now opening up about their life together, the heartbreak of losing their son, and the impact it eventually had on their relationship.
In her memoir, The Most Beautiful: My Life With Prince, Mayte gives fans a glimpse into their four-year marriage and the devastating loss of their son, Amiir, to a rare, genetic disorder at just six-days-old.
“I don’t think he ever got over it. I don’t know how anybody can get over it. I know I haven’t.”
